Projects trying to be added into the bill by the majority include $10 billion for an “education jobs fund” and $18 billion in Energy Department loan guarantees, as well as various other pet projects. These spending requests come just a week after House Democrats announced that they would not pass a budget this year. Conservative congressional candidate Frank Guinta (NH-1) denounced the continued lack of fiscal restraint and transparency in government by the House. Commenting on the situation, Guinta said, “Washington politicians continue to ignore the will of the people who want an end to deficit spending and the business as usual approach all too familiar on Capitol Hill. Because Congress refuses to pass a budget, they need to use important bills like the funding of the war to hide their excessive spending. People want a transparent government that listens to their concerns and not one that continues to play games with their money. On behalf of the people of the First District, I call on Congresswoman Shea-Porter to side against Speaker Nancy Pelosi and demand accountability from the House.” ###For more information, please email press@teamguinta.com
