“We face a pivotal moment in our country’s history. Now more than ever, we must focus on our shared common goals. We need to lower taxes and end the bailouts that mortgage our future. We need to encourage job growth and remember the free market principles our nation was founded upon. We need to get our priorities straight and cut spending. We need to move New Hampshire and America forward.”
“My goal will always be to lower your taxes and rein in government spending.”
Frank Guinta wants to stop the wasteful spending spree in Washington and believes the rate of government expansion is out of control. As Mayor, Frank Guinta delivered on his promises and secured the first tax cut this decade and got control of runaway spending – improving government services while cutting waste and costs. It’s time for common sense, responsibility and accountability in Washington. Frank Guinta signed the Americans for Tax Reform Taxpayer Protection Pledge and intends to honor that pledge representing New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District in Congress.
“Small business is the engine that drives our economy.”
Small businesses are the engine that drives our economy; their innovation and hard work should be rewarded and not penalized. During these tough economic times, the last thing Congress needs to do is place more burden on individuals and small businesses. Providing small businesses tax incentives will allow them to increase their workforce, invest and create jobs. Frank Guinta opposes the “cap-and-trade” scheme that will destroy jobs and raise prices for gas, electricity and other sources of energy. He also is against the Obama stimulus package that has yet to bring us jobs.
“Protecting our freedoms requires eternal vigilance.”
In Congress, Frank Guinta will work to responsibly address the growing threats from dangerous and unpredictable countries like North Korea and Iran and make sure that our borders are secure. Frank knows that it is imperative that we stay vigilant and ensure that our national defense remains the strongest force in the world. The men and women who serve in our Armed Forces and as our first responders, sacrifice so much in service to our nation and must always have the resources necessary to respond and meet any challenge that we are confronted with. As Mayor, Frank Guinta worked hand in hand with our first responders, reduced the violent crime rate, helped improve the way the police force operates and defended the rights of law-abiding gun owners to protect their families and property from dangerous criminals.
“Health care needs reform – not a government takeover.”
Frank Guinta opposes the government-run health care scheme that requires government to write a blank check it can’t cover and threatens the quality of our care. Health Care does need reform, but reform does not mean takeover. Nor does it mean writing checks with no money in the bank. To improve our health care coverage for our citizens and reduce costs, we need to allow small businesses to pool employees together in larger groups. This would reduce administrative expenses, increase bargaining power and lower costs. Also, we must allow consumers to cross state lines to purchase health insurance and any real health reform plan must include comprehensive tort reform.
“As a father, I understand the value and dignity of every child - born and unborn. It is for this reason that I recognize the importance of defending the sanctity of human life.”
Frank Guinta opposes tax dollars being used to fund abortions because he firmly believes that all human life is sacred and begins at conception. Therefore, as your next member of Congress, he will stand up and fight to eliminate all federal money used to terminate life through abortion. Frank acknowledges that New Hampshire law severely compromises parental rights and child safety when it comes to abortion. He asks, “Why is it that a minor is prohibited from ear piercing, or artificial tanning without a parent's approval, but can have an abortion without parental consent?” Frank believes that women who find themselves in a crisis pregnancy choose abortion because they feel they have no other choice. This is why Frank supports the work of pregnancy care centers that offer alternatives and support to women in crisis pregnancies.
